In 1933, our founder Heiichi Morisada began making powdered soap. He mixed barrels of lard or tallow with lye in a back-street Quonset hut in the mill town of Waipahu.
As the son of Japanese immigrants laboring on sugar plantations, he handled all aspects of the business himself.
He tended the machinery.
He packaged the product in recycled milk cans.
He then donned his best clothes and drove from house to house, town to town, peddling it under the name ABC Powdered Soap Factory.
He worked hard. The product and his service were great. Eventually Heiichi expanded his staff to include three employees. A loyal network of customers developed, including homeowners and commercial laundries.
Today the business he founded is called ABC Corporation. Despite many changes, technological advances and growth, Heiichi would readily recognize his company. It's still a 100% family-owned business. Some of those early commercial customers are still our customers. ABC's sales reps continue to offer personal service and expertise, and treat our customers like family and partners. And we still work hard.
We are forever grateful for the amazing customers who support our local small business, and we look forward to serving all your cleaning needs.
If you ever need anything, we are a phone call away.
Aloha,
ABC Corporation
